Finding Purpose in the Pit
In Genesis 39:20-23, we're reminded that even in life's darkest moments, God remains faithfully by our side. Joseph, despite his obedience and integrity, finds himself unjustly imprisoned. Yet, the scripture emphasizes that 'the Lord was with Joseph' and showed him 'steadfast love.' This narrative challenges our comfort-addicted theology and victim mentality, urging us to see purpose in our 'prisons.' Whether facing health issues, relationship struggles, or work uncertainties, we're called to pray through our circumstances rather than merely praying for escape. The message resonates deeply: there's no pit so deep that God's love isn't deeper still. As we navigate our own trials, we're encouraged to open our eyes to God's presence, seek His purpose in our pain, and hold fast to the promise that He will never leave nor forsake us.
